The second episode of the Evil Little Goats podcast is now ready for you to enjoy. This time around in the episode titled “Mind Your Manners” we talk about the current state of Pearl Jam, the time Jeremy’s wife had to be taken to the hospital after a Pearl Jam concert, the alleged new Pearl Jam song “Mind Your Manners,” I attempt to explain why new music from Pearl Jam won’t sound like new music from Soundgarden and whole bunch of other stuff happens too. Oh, and we play some music as well. Trust me, it’s 38 minutes well spent.

It looks like I’ll soon be doing a PJ podcast with a friend and it’s likely the podcast will be hosted here.

Right now we need suggestions for a name. Here are a few ideas we’ve been kicking around:

Shadow 86 at the Tractor Dec. 27:

Mike McCready’s old band Shadow, now called Shadow 86, is playing a benefit at the Tractor on Dec. 27. The band also features the Friel brothers and Danny Newcombe. The show will benefit Carbon Roots International. Shadow 86 will be supported by “TBA/special surprise guest.”

I found these old school bootlegs at Easy Street Queen Anne tonight. I passed on purchasing all three but don’t think I didn’t give heavy consideration to adding them to my collection of Pearl Jam recordings. The record on the left, titled Five Alive, cost $15. It is live recordings from the band’s ‘93 and ‘94 tours. The tracklist wasn’t anything all too impressive.

The middle record, In Rock We Trust, cost $20 and I almost bought it just based on its cover alone. I love that pic of Stone and Jeff. The record is a boot of both of the band’s Bridge School shows from 1994. It includes “Bee Girl” and “Walking the Cow,” which is a Daniel Johnston cover. It also has ”Footsteps” and “Wash,” two of my favorite Pearl Jam songs.

The record on the right, New Songs, also cost $20 and I had a tough time passing it up. It’s a compiltion of live recordings of songs that were yet to be released when the bootleg was produced which was some time in 1993-ish. The main lure was “Fuck Me In The Brain,” a song that I didn’t know exisited until tonight. Turns out it’s a pretty rare track. I passed on the purchase because I couldn’t justify $20 for one song, especially when it’s available to watch on YouTube for free.

“Fuck Me In The Brain” performed in Indio, Calif. 1993. Apparently it has only been performed twice. I know nothing about this song, but if I had to guess I’d say it was written by Eddie. It’ smacks “Pry, To” “Bugs” and other Vitalogy-era oddities.
