Mike McCready’s old band Shadow, now called Shadow 86, is playing a benefit at the Tractor on Dec. 27. The band also features the Friel brothers and Danny Newcombe. The show will benefit Carbon Roots International. Shadow 86 will be supported by “TBA/special surprise guest.”
Google Music is giving away a bootleg of PJ’s Sept. 11, 2011 show. It’s free and it’s good. Download it now.
I forgot this happened: Uncle Neil steps in for Eddie at a SF show in 1995 because Eddie had food poisoning. I don’t know how good the audio quality is on this boot, but it’s definitely worth giving a listen simply due to the fact that it exists.
I like Chris Cornell. I really do. But for the past five years of so I’ve been hesitant to latch on to anything he’s released.
His new album, “Songbook,” is the first Cornell record I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Sure it’s all acoustic, live and mostly material from Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog and his past solo records, but it sounds damn good. Definitely a must-buy for any Cornell fan.
